The Fidelity Files by Jessica Brody

Jennifer Hunter's friends think that her job as an investment banker sends her all over the country. But Jennifer quit her boring desk job two years ago; when she leaves her calm white apartment, she morphs into "Ashlyn," a seductress hired by suspicious wives and girlfriends to test their signficant others' fidelity. Over the past two years, "Ashlyn" has successfully exposed hundreds of cheaters, but her jet-setting double life is beginning to take its toll as her friends begin to wonder why she never dates and why she never seems to have time to go out on the weekends. Then Jennifer's life becomes even more complicated when someone threatens to reveal "Ashlyn's" true identity. When she thought things couldn't get any more confusing, Jennifer meets Jamie Richards and she finds herself drawn to his charm. Jennifer decides that the time has come to retire "Ashlyn" and come clean with everyone in her life, but she accepts one last case...

When I first picked up The Fidelity Files, I was rather surprised to find that it was over 400 pages and I wondered how a woman's exploits as a fidelity inspector could possibly be that interesting. Well, I finished the book in one afternoon when it was too hot to leave the air conditioning, so I would say that Jessica Brody kept it interesting and fresh.

Jennifer Hunter is a likeable character, despite the fact that she has lied to her friends and family for two years, because her decicion to expose the fidelity-challenged has roots beyond merely being a jilted woman who has been burned by one too many boyfriends.
